The Wisconsin Boys fish Alaska. August 4-8, 2013

August 9, 2013

Hello From Southeast Alaska,

One of the great pleasures of operating in Southeast Alaska is the opportunity to share the Alaska experience with visitors. This week we welcomed Adventurous first timers the Kennen brothers, Scott and Tom. Both of the brothers have fished and visited Alaska before and we welcomed the chance to show them around Baranof Island. The brothers were joined by their sons, Andy, Derek and Jared. The group was rounded of with fishing buddy Dave. This group of fisherman has forgotten more about lake and river fishing than most will ever know. They jumped at the opportunity to apply there skills in fishing to have one hell of an Alaska fishing adventure!

The Salmon fishing was without exaggeration epic! We found good bites of both King and Coho Salmon this week. Scott landed the largest Coho of the year so far a 18 pounds! The Sockeye were also on the “bite” this week and the guys managed to land a good number of them one day. Halibut fishing was also fast and furious. Although most of the fish were under 30 pounds there was many and the action was great! We did have the chance to release two very nice size Halibut at an estimated 130 # for Scott and 100# for Dave. As if the Salmon and Halibut were not enough the Yellow eye and Ling Cod bite was also outstanding!

Some great wildlife, cruising and even some fly fishing rounded out the week and made it one to remember!

Thanks to both Scott and Tom for putting together one hell of a group of fisherman! We look forward to seeing you next time!
