Meet Captain Travis Peterson and his Surly Crew!
Captain Travis Peterson and his wife Jennifer will be your host aboard the Adventurous.
Travis has spent most of his life on the water chasing all things with gills and fins from Alaska to Panama. Travis has a true passion for fishing, entertaining and cruising Southeast Alaska. With over 12 seasons of exploring the remote Alaskan waters aboard the Adventurous, Travis’s expertise is your best assurance of enjoying an unforgettable Southeast Alaska experience.
Meet Jennifer
Jennifer or 'Jenn' also is infected with a true love for Southeast Alaska and the diversity of life aboard the Adventurous. Although Jenn has been tantalizing our palates aboard the Adventurous for several years; she had attended an intense 6 month chef program at the Pacific Culinary institute in Vancouver BC. Jenn’s passion for cooking, and love for Southeast Alaska will add to the enjoyment of any trip aboard the Adventurous!
James Power (the super crewman)
James is twenty-one years old and going on his third year aboard the Adventurous. James spends his winters attending Western Washington University in Bellingham Washington where he is working on a degree in manufacturing engineering.
While James spends much of his spare time in the winter honing his skills on the snowboard, during the summer months you will find him hard at work on the deck of the Adventurous.
Quick with a smile, always helpful and an unbelievable work ethic James is a pleasure to work and fish with. From evening skiff rides, fly rod casting lessons, even salmon cleaning lessons you will find the company of James to be one of the many highlights of your trip aboard the Adventurous.
Shawna Ballard
Shawna Ballard Shawna graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History in 2008. In 2006 Shawna began working, crewing, and cooking on boats in Southeast Alaska and quickly fell in love with both the boating life and Alaska. After several summers onboard vessels in Southeast in 2009 Shawna attended Crawford Nautical School in Seattle where she obtained her 100 ton Masters license (captain license). She has spent the last several winters working at Redden Marine Supply in Bellingham Washington learning the retail side of the maritime industry! Shawna has a true passion for cooking, the outdoors and above all life in Southeast Alaska! We are excited to welcome Shawna to the Adventurous crew and introduce her to life aboard the Adventurous!
