Fishing Report for 8/13/2006 - Team's Mclauchlan and Waters with a visit from Team Panama (Yes, those are real bears!)

One of the most exciting advantages to working in Southeast Alaska is sharing the areas nearly indescribable beauty and diversity with people that have never visited!

Even more exciting is sharing with families and kids. This week we welcomed two returning families, the Mclauchlans and Waters and their "first timer" kids Ian, Amanda, Charlie and Kate! We also welcomed old timer Pesca Panama, but first time Alaska Charter Service guest Carlos Uruiola his wife Barbra, and Julio De La Lasira and his wife Ivonne all from the country of Panama! Andy has long been a fan of Whale Bay and favorable weather conditions allowed us to spend most of the week within the bay. Spectacular Coho fishing, shrimping and even a few halibut filled the week with excitement! Although the weeks fishing was action packed and exciting one of the real highlights of the week was the bears! With over 15 years of exploring and fishing Southeast Alaska I have never seen bears like we did last week. Seeing up to 8 at one time everyone had the chance to get up close and personal with feeding Brown Bears in their natural environment! 

As Carlos said...."It was if we were in a National Geographic special for the week." What a great week!! We need to thank Andy, Cheryl, Bob and Lynda for sharing their families to make a wonderful week aboard the Adventurous! We also need to thank "Team Panama" for making the long trip to Southeast Alaska. It was a pleasure sharing Southeast Alaska! We hope to see you all again next year!
